Lowering Springs

Hey guys, I have a stock 96 SE and I wanted to lower the car because I hate the look of the huge wheel well. I don't want to affect the ride very much, so I am looking at Eibach. Is this a good choice for a nice ride, and also do I have to get new struts? Please help me out on my options. Thanks!

Shawn

So which would you say has a better ride, the MaxSpeed, or the H&R's? Thanks a lot for the help!

If you really want an opinion just ask right... geez these guys on the org. anyeayz... I got the eibach goundcontrol coilovers with the KYB AGX 8-way adj. shocks.. that and the PROGRESS and KYB AGX shock setup are the best right now... In my opinion....

Do some homework before you commit, though. . .

There have been more than a few reports of the Progress springs sagging over time. (I'm not making this up - do a search on the topic. . .)

If your priority is maintaining the stock ride quality, you should consider the H&R's. Not as much of a drop to reduce your wheel gap, but almost any spring that drops you lower than the H&R will neccessarily affect the ride quality. You can't lose suspension travel without sacrificing some ride quality.

Also look into the B&G's if you have an automatic. If you have a manual, I wouldn't go with them, however. Search to find out why, or ask member "dashingmax" about his experiences. . .

Good luck!

I just installed H&R springs last week and just have to say that they are perfect. A nice drop and I still get a smooth ride.

Eibachs are real nice. The drop is noticeable, i believe 1.5" drop.
Yes, you'll want/need to get new struts. The stock struts will eventually fail with stiffer springs. KYB AGX are nice.
Sure you can get a larger drop and stiffer set up, but the eibach/agx combo is great and the agx's are adjustable.
