If it fell off, it would still be in your engine bay . If it's not there, it probably got jacked. Do yourself a favor and don't drive it unless you put the stock box back on or another replacement filter. 5 miles without shouldn't have done that much harm unless you drove on a dirt road or something.

I'm sorry, but thats kind of

if it fell off it should still be in your engine compartment. I have no clue how or why anyone would steal it.

Do you konw what a CAI is... its in the wheel well not in the engine compartment so if it fell of it would be on the side of a road. and some one could have stolen it .

yes, but it should remain in the wheel well cuz there is a cover thing unless you don't have one which is bad. dirty air!!!

Change your engine oil and you'll be fine.

mine too

mine fell off, because i didnt have it connected correctly. i changed my oil and bought a new cone for $50.00. i had no splash guard, and it was off for 100 miles, no problems, just 50.00 more bones.

Q: What does engine oil have to do with the intake?

Dust sucked in by intake, eventually would end up in your engine oil. I recommend changing it. Even owner’s manual recommends frequent engine oil changes if vehicle is operated in dusty conditions.

Wouldn't the piston rings/valve seals prevent that? I was under the impression that the oil system was basically closed.
