There is chipped paint on my new used maxima i got last week. I don't know how it happened, i just saw it recently after i waxed my car. the paint on the hood lokked a little dull and had a weird cracked desert floor look to it but now its chipped. i think maybe the previous owner painted over it after something happened like salt or something ate at the paint. what should i do? should i use touch up paint or what?

my experience with chipped paint... when i bought my car i didnt see any noticable paint chips besides the nose. i washed my car several times in one of those "drive-thru" car washes, car came out looking clean and shinny. one day i washed my car at my house cause i was broke and when i was done it appeared that i washed off the touch paint and i could see more chips in the paint on the doors and stuff. i re-touch-up-painted them and i dont wash my car by hand anymore i just go to one of those places.

 

So the touch up paint worked? does it look OK? also how much would it be for a descent paint job in black?

I have chipped paint by my right foglight and that itself is an eyesore to look at
