98-99 Automatic Climate Control swap into a 96 with ACC

Simple question, yes or no answer... Will a 98-99 Automatic Climate Control module (the thing that's in the dash) swap into a 96 that also has an Automatic Climate Control module? I'm talking plug and play... Unplug one, plug in other, and it works...

I have read that there are some differences in the way the newer modules control the AC/heat. I would also like to do the AMB Temp mod (http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....ght=amb+button). Thanks...

(I did search for this BTW)

Yes you cant do it, there is many things needed to make this swap work, I did the swap and it took 8 hours and the removal of ther dash and 3 parts including harnesses, all in all it was the final step in my 98-99 interior swap. I am happy with it.

Even if I already have an auto climate control? What additional parts would be needed then?

You need the main harness for the 98-99 climate control, you need an air mix door motor, the harness for it, the mode door motor, the harness for that, you need a haynes manual or fsm, knowledge reading schematics, you need to disable to bi-level motor, tear out the old air mix door motor and replace it with the new oner, tear out the mode door motor and replace it with the new one, remove the idle air controller valve system, remove the old auto amp from the 95-97 setup wich happens to have about 42 wires you will be cutting, match the wires up with the new harness that goes to the controller for the 98-99. Trust me this isn't a walk in the park. As of right now I am the only one on this org dumb enough to attempt this, all in all the procedure does work but parts are needed for the swap and in teh end I like the look of it way more.

So I would need all this stuff if I wanted to go from a **** climate control to an automatic climate control? I also wanna put the Bose system in it.

I will tell you right now there is no way you are going to be able to put the bose system into your car if it doesent have it already, too many wires. You need both front door panel harnesses and other wires, its a waste of time and might not even work, I dont know personally I had bose when I bought the car

looks good, is there any wiring involved or does it run off batteries?

I'm with Killer 95. it's not worth it. You could get a system that would absolutely embarrass the maxima's bose system. Even a cheap system would make the Bose system look like fisher price. I had the bose system in my car and when it started to act up, I ripped the whole thing out. Now I hear music. Bose is absolute garbage. This is not only just my opinion, but is actually solid truth.
