I'm replaceing my struts and springs, Should I pay or do it my self?
How much is it to get it done anyway? I was told doing it yourself would teke 3-4 hours. What do you think? By the way I'm kinda broke.

Do it yourself if you have to tools, know-how and time..

Or just wait and let a shop do it..Shops come with a limited warrety im guessing so if anything goes wrong u can blame it on them

I've done suspention jobs 4 times in 3 months now. Doing it yourself is fine too, but I think its worth $150. So if I had to do it again and if I had extra $150 lying around, I'd pay a mechanic to do it. You're already getting the shocks and springs, which = more than $500, so another $150 for the install is reasonable.

However, I would not let any mechanic do the suspension. The mechanic needs to know what he is doing, otherwise, he will not seat or align the strut mounts properly.

Most places take a 40-60 dollar deposit and you get it all back when you return the parts. Try calling your Auto Zone.

if u live near the NYC area or in long island..i would recommend you to jeff who has a shop out in long island- Maximmum Tuning, and he charges 100 for the install and does a great job in less than 2 hours, just ask TsingTsaoNYC and anyone else who has dealt with him...im gettin my installation this coming up monday...i'd say suspension and brakes are two things i would rather have sum1 experienced do

If you know how to do it, it takes 3-5 hours.
If you don't know how, it takes 9-13 hours.

Simple as that.

do it yourself. It's worth saving the money for something else. It's not very hard, just follow directions.

spring comrpressor rentals Free, you will need a socket sizes 17mm and 19mm sockets along with possible 18mm sockets as well. You will need a breaker bar as well and a jack to jack up the car. Install if your not mechanically inclined total time should be no longer then 8 hours
