Exhaust System: Cat has an O2 sensor?

Hi Guys,

I just jacked my car up and saw that there was a cable running to the area just after the cat (towards the back of the car).

My car is US Spec (I looked at the plat on the firewall), and I wonder what needs to be involved when I am installing new cat/Y-pipe and B-pipe.

Do I need to have the shop drill a hole for the O2 sensor on the cat (of was it for the B-pipe)?

Thanks in advance!

If you replace the b-pipe or purchase a cat-back exhaust, you will need to make sure there is a bung for the O2 sensor. If there is not, simply have one drilled.

Thanks for your reply, ljl10...

...so as I understand it, the O2 sensor is on the b-pipe section, not the cat, right?

Thanks!

If I read your first post correctly, yes, the O2 sensor is located on your car's b-pipe, just after of the main cat.

You'll just have to get under the car and look to be sure.

How does this differ from 95-96?

I remember reading that 97-99 had an extra O2 sensor, but don't remember where it was.
