Engine feels rough under hard acceleration...
I've noticed lately when accelerating on the highway/out of the toll booth, etc my engine feels rough. It feels like the power is there, but it surges and dips - almost feels like something is slipping or maybe a fuel issue. My car is completely up to date on maintanance, with 94K on the odometer. I have a new fuel filter, NGK plat. plugs, all fluids, new belts, one new O2 sensor, new alternator. Has anyone experienced this!? Please help...
I'm afraid that it might be a fuel injector issue, or maybe that I only replaced one oxygen sensor and not both. The car idles smooth as butter though, and feels great under light acceleration. Gas mileage hasn't changed at all, etc.
Any thoughts? I did try the search, but go no help that way.

Knock sensor maybe?
I don't know as much about the knock sensors as some other people do (I've never replaced mine) but it stands to reason that if your knock sensor is bad, it would retard your ignition timing and would cause a loss of power.
What kind of gas are you using? Maybe you got a bad batch of gas (you can never trust some of these places...)

I had/have the same problem with my 98 maxima SE. The check engine light eventually came on and the dealer determined that it was a bad 02 sensor. They replaced it and everything seemed great for about 2 months. It appears to be doing it again now. Hesitating on accleration. So I don't know if a different 02 sensor is going bad or if its the same one. The check engine light hasn't come yet and I haven't had a chance to take it to the dealer.
Hope this helps.

I work at a Nissan Dealership and I can tell you that the O2 sensors are a dime a dozen around here. They're constantly going bad and two have recently went on mine. I found out that there was a bulletin on them and that they were supposibly fixing the problem. If you try calling Nissan's customer service (I believe it's 1-800-NISSAN1) and complaining, you may be able to get them replaced for free.
