Please don't do this.

First off it doesn't do anything for performance and you will screw up the cold idle circuit and your car will not come off of a fast idle properly.

There is a plunger that needs to be warmed by the coolant in the throttle body to make your car idle correctly when it's warming up. If this plunger can't detect you motor heating up, your TB will not function properly.

thats news to me, i was told that it is only needed when very cold out, like around 35 degrees. and that it only heated up the air going into the intake manifold, thus decreasing power. i dunno!

Re: doh

I did this mod back in 99. It's debatable whether it actually made any power or not (I really don't think it did...butt dyno experience only though). I do know that my idle went sky high when the temps got below ~50F. As stated previously, the cold idle cam/thermostat kicked on and kept the throttle plate from closing completely. The only way to disable this is to adjust the cold idle cam so that it never interferes with the throttle plate. The only downside is the engine won't warm up as quickly and cold-start emissions will be worse. Certainly something you could live with, but since the modification really didn't do anything, why bother?
