koni problem

Well I bought some used konis and installed the fronts today. Everything was fine until I ran over a raised piece of asphalt at about 40. Now the whole front strut makes a clicking noise. I haven't looked at it yet but wanted to know if you guys think it is blown. I am going to have to drive 1k miles to school in a week and a half so need to fix this sh^ fast. I may just order some kyb's. Also, what is the deal with the rear koni's? THis is a 4th gen and the stock nuts do not fit on the shocks, and I don't have any that came with the konis. What size please, any ideas of what is wrong and who has kyb's in stock the lowes priced and able to ship soon> Thanks a lot@

Check the top nut that holds the strut piston in the upper strut mount. It should be snug to 50 Ft. Lbs.

Check the bolt on the bottom of the strut housing that holds the Koni in place. That bolt has a history of coming lose. Might want to try some lock tite on it.

Either one of them is whats causing your clank clank noise.

Thanks a lot I'll check both of those.......
Did you guys have any fitment issues with the rear nuts on the shocks? THe stock nut will begin to thread but will NOT go any further after a few turns. I've been to home depot, auto zone and a few others; still I'm having no luck finding the right bolt. THanks

If you cant get loctite ensure that you at least use some slicone on that bolt and it wont come loose again. Contact Gordon Benson at Koni and he will mail you out the nuts so relax, Konis are great shocks, the clunking noise is either you didnt tighten the top nut or the bottom bolt came loose and those are the clunking noise your hearing. I should know I have Konis. As for the rears Gordon at Koni will ship you out the nuts free of charge, youll get them in 3-5 days tops so contact him.
