Fixed Idle problem with restting ECU

I had a slight idle problem when my A/C was on.

So I decided to reset my ECU, thinking it may help, and my idle problem was solved. It seems as if you move the screw more or less, the idle will be higher or lower, anyone ever experience that?

Resetting the idle and auto transmission using the factory manual procedures (reset ECU, etc.) made a world of difference to the drivability of my car.

Sorry about the vagueness of that omment. The ECU screw in which you use to set/reset the ECU, on ther dash. Not the 'idle set screw' next to the TB....

My bad

1) Stick a screw driver in the screw.
2) Turn.

Yes I've messed with my idle by turning this screw.

Are you saying resetting the ECU fixed the idle, or the movement of the screw? Is it acting like a POT? I find resetting the ECU once a year after a 15k maintance makes a diff. Plus it allows me to then drive her around for a day and then check if I pull any codes.

I don't think it's a POT.. I thought it was just a switch that allowed you to enter diagnostic mode and reset the ECU. I don't really see why it should change the idle, except that the ECU would have to re-calibrate the fuel/air mixture after being reset, changing the idle speed? If this is correct, the idle should return to "normal" (how it used to be) after driving the car around for a while.
