Instrument Cluster Problems

I have two problems...

The temperature gauge fluctuates rapidly up and down. It increases when I step on the gas.

The speedometer appears to be sticking. When I'm going 65 MPH on the freeway with everybody else, it reads 45 for instance. Could this be caused by a bad speed sensor? If so, why would it stick instead of not work completely?

Any comments would be appreciated.

I have working replacements, but the overlays are black (they came from a GXE). If you're willing to take off the needles, you can swap them out for yours...

I had a similar problem with my tach a couple of months ago. It just started flipping out and never read accurately. I replaced it, and now it works flawlessly. I suspect something's just wrong with the magnets or motors inside your instruments. Sorry, I can't really help any further than that.
