Help! Light Clutch Pedal and Notchy Shifter

Please help! A few days ago I replaced my rear brake pads, and since then my clutch pedal has felt very light when pushing in for the first 4-5 inches. Also, the shifter is much more difficult to push into first, second and third gear now. Can anyone help me diagnose the problem? Is my slave cylinder shot, is my clutch going dead, or is there something else? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks...

Have you checked the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder?

Might be a good idea to bleed it or even replace that fluid. It's brake fluid and it absorbs moisture. Moisture in the hydraulic system will cause poor performance.

your clutch master cylander resevoir is a small 3" tall by 1-1/2" diameter translucent guy at the back driver side of your engine well. the black lid is a slip on/ off type. the fluid is clean DOT3 brake fluid... I have a small leak somewhere in my clutch hydraulics that requires me to add brake fluid to this resevoir every couple of weeks. Untill I get off my lazy *** and find and fix the slow leak
