I have accomplished this. It is relatively simple. However, the button does not include the "button mechanics" so you will need to cut a wood pencil to size, glue it to the button, then glue the other end of the pencil to the button on the circuit board. Alternatively you can just glue the pencil to the button. Because of the angle of the dash the pencil will stay in, just have some side to side play. One other thing is you will need to cut the "ghost" button out of your ACC faceplate. Thats a real bear, so be carefull not to break anything or cut yourself.

The part number you need is listed in my post 2 or 3 positions above.

:o)

Let me get this outside temp. reading thing right. In summary:

'95-'97 = Screwed

'98 = The capability exists but there is no button stock.

'99 = Already there stock.

Correct?

Sorry, I saw it up on the front page, and just now noticed that excluding the 3 posts before mine(posted on the 18) this is indeed an old thread. Terribly sorry.

95/97 can not switch to 98+ ACC; screwed really means screwed.

I'm psyched to try this out. How exactly did you get the button to stay put? I've got a 98 SE.
