Turbo is going to be much more expensive but better. You can use the search function at the top of the page to answer almost any question you have.

This topic has already been discussed.
If you can afford it and be willing to spend time fine tuning it go with the turbo.

Turbo is Tasty

I think turbo would be the tastiest choice, throughout high school I had an Eclipse GSX, and I miss the hissing...............If only I had the funds I would make it happen, good luck!

Re: turbo or supercharged please help

I call BS. There is no way in hell your going to turbocharge or supercharge the car you haven't even bought . If you can't search to find the good/bad of each setup, then don't buy a maxima just to turbo or supercharge it. Just buy and enjoy the ride.

This is exactly the type of crappy post that stops people from bothering to use the search function!

Your post will now pop up in the results when people search for TC or SC, trying to actually find some useful information.. that's why people end up giving up on the searching.

Anyway, back to the topic..
$4200 for Nigel's kit vs. $3400 for the Stillen V2 kit from Avalon racing.
If you're fairly mechanically minded you can probably install both yourself - Ptatohed has a very detailed write up for the V2 install.

I'm in the same situation myself, as far as trying to decide on either SC or turbo, without having found the right car yet.

I was concerned about SC reliability issues, but have been reassured by some of the helpful .ORG members that the SC pulleys seemed to be holding up under normal driving. Nigel's TC setup seems to be changing everyday, so trying to guage reliability is difficult, as it's such a custom setup, with a lot of variables.
I'll probably go for the SC for two reasons:
1. cost - both initial setup plus ongoing cost of tuning
2. supportability of SC - a lot of people have it and know a lot about it and most are willing to share and help out.

Good luck finding the right max.
