Need Help: Another brake problem...kinda long

OK so I installed new OEM front brake pads/shims on my 98 like 3 weeks ago cause the ones that were on there were ultra cheap and squeeking like hell. I had another post running about the fact that the new OEM pads I put in didnt have slots for the anti-rattle springs so I left them out.

Brakes were perfectly fine for 2.5 weeks. No noises, braking fine etc.

Then like 3 days ago I hop in my car, rolling up to a stop sign and hitting the brakes lightly and I get this loud DEEP humming sound coming from the front brakes. "HHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM". I can feel it in the brake pedal too. Press the brake down hard it goes away. Use the brakes lightly or heavily while at a fast pace (10+ mph) there's no noise. It only happens when I'm going like 1-5mph and hitting the brake very lightly. Its really odd..such a loud noise for such light braking.

So I was thinking that the pads are rattling cause I didnt put the anti-rattle springs back on, but in the my other post someone said they arent necessary with the new OEM pads, hence the fact that they dont have slots for them. I also feel like it would have been happening from the day I put them in.

Anyone have any idea's suggestions, please let me know. Thanks

Hmmmm...the Porterfields I just bought had the holes for the anti-rattle springs in them. I can't imagine why the new OEM's would't have the holes in them as well. Did you get OEM pads or 'Key Value' pads? I don't know if that makes a difference, but I'm just thinking out loud.

finally, someone elase has the same problem i do!!!! The same thing on mine, except mine squeal a little after they get hot. I'm taking the car in tommorow for an alignment and brake work, so i'll see if there's anything wrong, and pass the info on.

Hmmm...well, I'd call Courtesy and ask them about it. Tell them about the lack of holes for the a.r. springs and see what they say...

Uhh, no I didnt put any grease on em, the harware kit didnt have any in it. They told me I didnt need any. Its odd cause it only happens sometimes. Like this morning for instance, I didnt hear the problem once...

ok, i just got back from the shop. She's now perfctly aligned and next week i'm having ceramic pads put on. It seems to be the only thing that will be able to fix the grind/squeal.
