need your opinions...

i ordered set of maxspeed springs through GD. and ive done some research about shox(struts) and i think i need to replace them at the sametime. i have 97 SE and about 91000 on them. which struts should i get? i think tokico is lil less expensive then kyb/agx struts are. and i know that kyb/agx struts are adjustable, is that mean i can raise my car up during winter and lower it during summer? if so would it be hard to adjust it? which one would you guys recommend? i live in chicago area and it's just horrible during the winter... please help me and let me know what you guys think.

thanks,
Tae

Wuzzup Tae.
Long time no see. I thought you sold your Maxima.
If you have 91000 miles, I'd recommend that you replace the struts when you replace the springs. I got my KYB AGX for $350 shipped. The Tokico & KYB GR2 are basically stock replacement. Will not hold the drop for long.

When they say that the struts are adjustable, they're talking about "stiffness" and not height. If you want adjustable height, go with a coilover kit. Cattman & Ground Control make coilovers for our Maxima.

Good Luck

Yes, mine is daily driven AND it is lowered 1.6" AND I have a front lip! It can be a challenge driving in the winter.
I bought mine from:
Nick Bauer
734 Poquonnock Road
Groton, CT 06340
1-877-634-0063 Toll Free
1-860-445-0511 Fax

I do remember someone else on here selling for 340 or so...
Just search the Classifieds section.

I just bought my Maxspeed springs about 10 minutes ago, and now I am looking at struts. You say that the GR-2 struts will not hold the drop for very long. How come the AGX will make the car hold the drop any longer than the GR-2? The drop isn't controlled by the strut at all, is it? Help please!

I don't think that's right... aren't there plenty of people on the org that have lowering springs along with GR2's? What do those people think about this? I am curious also, becuase I have heard that even on the softest setting, the AGX's are pretty firm.
