starting problem

alright, i've already searched countless times for this and not one was the case of this. It only happens when it's hot outside and my engine has already cool downed. I try starting, and all i hear is the starter trying to start the car. When it does start, it has a nasty idle for 30 seconds then it goes to 1500 RPM. Sometimes at night when i drove at the daytime and the engine is cold, it would never seem to start. I checked my spark plugs, and they're still good (still has a pretty nice gap to them). Anybody know what's up?

When you start the car, are you just cranking instantly after putting the key in?

You should move the key to the on position, wait for a second, and then crank it. My car starts a good deal more consistently this way (esp in hot weather), and I believe the owner's manual instructs you to start the car this way.

But even if you aren't doing this, that probably won't solve your problems completely.
