whats the diffrence 95-96 and 97-99

whats the diffrence 95-96 and 97-99

I'm wondering whats the diffrence of the 95-96 and 97-99 body styles. I went car shopping tonite and the 95-96 models i seen looke alot better. Is it just me or is there a diffrence?

there are a bunch of other threads on this but...

the grills are different. the bumpers, the tail lights(much better on 97-99) and some other lil ish.

Not to much of a diffrence. THe Front Grills are a bit diffrent and so is the bottem valence in the front. The rears are diffrent cause of the tail lights. 95-96 Tails are upside down compared to 97-99. And the 97-99 tails and trunk is more smoother and thinner and more rounded then the actual 95-96 Models. Steering wheel on the 95-96 Models is more square in the middle compared to 97-99. Either way, the 4th Gen IS 95-99. So we all family in this situation. No matter what model of 4th gen you get, it will always be sexy

i have looked for other threads but couldn't find any. so if you could show some links or pictures of the diffrences that would be helpful.

That was SO helpful.

Come on.. the guy's just trying to gather some info. We don't need to crusade for the search function every time someone asks a question! Personally, I like seeing people ask questions, even the dumb ones. I gain a lot of insight and learn a lot of things from other people's questions.

IMO this kind of ? should be posted in the 4th Gen FAQ's, but to help out a fellow .org member...

to the best of my knowledge...

95 -
4th Gen is introduced
ECU was still OBD-1

96 -
Power passenger seat is an option
ECU is now OBD-2
A few new colors?

97 -
Front & Rear restyled
16" wheels new to SE while GLE gets the wheels from 95/96 SE
minor interior freshening
a few new colors

98 -
Digital odo is introduced
Fuel gauge points right
Side airbags now an option (Deluxe seating pkg.)
Sterling mist is new color

99/99.5 -
Midlevel & Bose Head Units are re-styled
Traction Control now an option
Immobilizer introduced
A few colors are re-worked or new

99.5 -
SE-L model is introduced w/ titanium accents on gauges & wheels, perforated leather seats optional on SE-L, SE-L floor mats
Crimson Blaze Red (correct color?) new color for SE-L

and i've read around that 95/6 are faster than 97/9, but not possitive, get a 2nd opinion before you hold that to me.
