starting problem

I know starting is a common problem with 95-96 max, searched and can't find a good thread. My mom's '95 gxe requires at least 3 tries to start, then is sluggish for a few seconds, then runs fine. The starter was replaced 2 years ago, and the battery is good. The dealership says its something "between the starter and (something else?) according to my mother.

Any ideas or thread referrences?

Clean your throttle body and IAC valve.
Replace your fuel filter if you haven't already.

www.motorvate.ca has a nice write up of cleaning the throttle body.

Don't know what IAC stands for, or how to clean the valve, but cleaned the TB and she fires of first crank.

THANKS,

Scott
