rebuilding auto...

can i use i30t (auto w/lsd) guts in the maxima housing -or would i have to get the entire transmission for swap?

There should be SOME parts that are interchangeable but since LSD transmission has a different half-shaft (left side IIRC), I doubt that there would be that many.

The non-LSD tranny is No. RE4F04A, the LSD tranny is (again, from memory) RE4F04LA.

If you have an LSD tranny, why don't you just swap it out?

I believe the LSD tranny is RE4F04V

I know that with the 5-speed tranny, the driver side case half is different for the lsd and open diff versions (the lsd tranny has to have more space for the larger limited slip differential, and I suspect the same is true for the automatic trannys. So only swapping internals won't work unless you kept your open diff.
