Tach, keyless entry, intake questions

I recently purachased a 96 maxima. I am trying to find out if this vehicle came equipped with keyless entry, and if it did were can i get the remotes. Also the tach in the dash is "slipping" the neddle tries to go up but it gets to about 2500rpm and slowly falls back down. Hopefully someone has come across this before and knows a fix for it. And im trying to find a cold air intake for my car. any information regarding these item would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
mcauliffeinfl@cs.com

Well, since you're new, I'll help you out. All Maximas came with keyless entry. To get the remotes, go to your local Nissan dealer in the parts department (They'll have to program them for you too). As for your tach, I have no clue yet but can find out for you on Friday (work at Nissan Dealer that day). In the mean time try using the search function on Tach Slipping or something similar. As for a CAI, try the Place Racing. You can get it from www.custommaxima.com . And for future reference, if you post something without using the search function first to find if anybody else has had the same problem; you will be jumped on by lots of members and ripped to shreds by their comments.

Not all them...

Actully, not all Maxima's came with Keyless Entry. It was standard on the GLE, but part of the C&C (Comfort & Convinience) Package optional on the GXE/SE. If you have the other goodies that came with the C&C package (power driver's seat, button operated trunk release, lighted vanity mirror, intermittent vipers etc) then you have the keyless entry and all you need is a remote from ebay or some place.

Talked to a tech today and he's almost sure that your tachometer is bad. In this case, you'll have to replace the whole tach (circuit board) which should come out with a couple of screws. To find instructions on how to take out your dash cluster, go to www.maximadriver.com in the How 2 section and find the link on installing new gauges. Hope this helps.
