hard start

lately it seems that my car hesitates to start, starts nonetheless, but it just seems like it is struggling.........so far i have changed
*alternator belt
*power steering belt
*knock sensor
*fuel filter
*regular oil changes

-the odd thing is that i just changed to quaker state synthetic blend oil when it began to happen, yet i have used no oil........

How many miles are on the plugs?

Ever clean the throttle body out?

Run a bottle of Techron Fuel system cleaner through.

What's the mileage? Try changing the plugs(gapped properly) and maybe the wires. How's your idle when the car is running? Both hot and cold.

alarm problem

It could be the factory alarm. I had the same problem. I got an aftermarket alarm and it fixed my starting problem. You might want to have your alarm checked out. I also have automatic start now by the way.

Want to know why your aftermarket alarm fixed it? WIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check your wires that are connected to the starter. They may be corroded and can't provide proper conduction. A good test is to disconnect the starter wire (+) and connect a seperate wire to it and then touch the other end to the battery (+) terminal. Make sure your keys is in and switched to the ON/ACC position. If the car starts normally, then you have a problem w/ the wiring.
