custom y pipe?

where does the beginning of the y pipe go? does anybody have a pic of a y pipe? my idea would be just to bend a peice of aluminum from the beginning of the y pipe and connect it to an exhaust. that would allow for maximum performance it would sound good, it wouldnt past any emissions tests in pa but im not too worried about it. good or bad idea? just go with a company y piple and exhaust? need the info.

Its more complicated than just bending a piece of metal. the y-pipe connects from both exhaust manifolds. go to www.warpspeedperformance.com for pics of a ypipe.

Don't reinvent the wheel.
Just buy a manufactured Y-pipe.
