question about a fuel pump
The other day my friend went to a mechanic and he asked the mechanic about his fuel pump and that he wanted to buy a performance one. So his mechanic told him that performance fuel pumps are a waste because after about 5000 miles they produce as much as a regular fuel pump and that they usually don't last as long.
Does anyone know if that's true. I'm considering buying a performance fuel pump but I don't want to if it will be a waste of my money. What are everyone elses opinion on performance fuel pumps?
thanks

Mechanic's knowledge is questionable...
I've had my "performance" fuel pump for a couple of months now and it's still performing like new (quiet and fuel delivery)...
It won't give you any additional horsepower if your NA, FYI...
Look here for more information on the install.

Overall... not a very good payoff for the money you will invest... look at Y-pipe, exhaust or intake instead.
