Warning on Replacement Hood Struts

Warning on Replacement Hood Struts
Just a note that my Auto Zone replacement hood struts have started to go bad...I've had them no more than 2 years. These are the $15 each replacements that came out at that time and were posted on the forum. Looks like they are no more/less reliable than the stock versions.
If you have these you may want to take extra care and use a backup support when working under the hood so you won't get bonked or lose some fingers!

I've had both stock and aftermarket hood struts and they both suck. When my Tokicos go, I'll probably use two of them for the hood
seriously though, I may try to find a metal hood prop. If I can't, I guess I could always cut a 2X4 down and paint it blue to accent it.hehe

If anyone cares, those struts you bought from AutoZone have a lifetime warranty. Take them back and get replacements, take the whopping 2 minutes to replace them (easier now you have done them once before), and you're off to other more important issues in life.
Or you can pay a whole lot more for Nissan OEM ones and be laughed at when you ask for replacements.
