my serpentine belt flew off last night

anyone had that happen yet?..

well after a series of fairly loud noises and some metallic clinging and my battery and brake lights going off.. i suddenly had this sense of "oh ****"

The last mechanic i took this car too; i don't think he tightened the idle pulley on tight enough or something because im guessing thats what manifested the metallic clang; my idle pulley flying off.

then of course because the belt had no tension it was the next to fly off. This all happened at like 60 MPH in high traffic, while i was mildly stoned, so it made for one hell of a confusing scenario.

so i guess im gonna go try and hunt down my pulley on a 3 lane road in miami, maybe hopefully my belt too, although because it was still in good shape i doubt it'll still be there.

Oh if anyone has a good clear pic of how exactly the idle pulley looks when properly assembled, that would be sweet because i can't find any good pics in my haynes..

peese.

Get a new belt and maybe the tensioner pulley too as it may be damaged by now...
