I just used a regular ratchet and stuck my hand in as far as possible to get it off. You will end up getting some battle scars...but its worth it. Or get someone with some small hands to get in there.

get one of those socket-angle things...I forget what they're called,
but, it the socket piece with a hinge on it...That's what I used...

and yes, you will have battle scars...

hehe, i did mine while the engine was still hot...

i have smallish hands, and since it was so hot in there, i did all that i could possibly do to not get burned, as a result, i didnt get a single cut and a few very minor burns that went away by the next day

damn you talented knock sensor people. I took the whole weekend, and i still don't have it changed. Argh, my flexi socket keeps getting off the bolt, so it's ****ing hard.

Btw, what is that green plug outside the cave of the knock sensor? I forgot to plug it back in, and my CEL went on..

You could always take it to the dealer.
That is what I plan to do...
I took one look at the position of the knock sensor and realized there would be no way my hands or arm would fit in that space.

Or you could go "by the book" and remove the intake manifold first.

that's f'ed up...plugged in it should be OK...not the other way around!!!

what do you mean by "runs like crap"? and, just to be sure, did you reset your ECU correctly?
