Stillen Intake impression and questions (a tad long)

Ok, just got mine for $150, and yes some of you might tell me get the JWT for $50 less, but heck I got everything Stillen, might as well, right? What's $50 more!?

I just installed it during lunch, it's easy as heck. When I pulled out onto the first straight road, I floored it and I was like "HOLY ****!!! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?!?!?" I have done my research on the pop charger before and I heard that it's going to have this nasty growl like an American V8, but not in my wildest dream it'll be THAT nasty! I don't know if I like it or not!?! But yeah, pass 3000 rpm, it definitely pulls more than stock airbox. I really like the pull and power, but I'm still not sure about the growl! So, I guess from what I heard, the hybrid upper piping will cure that growling problem? Is that correct?

One last question, there is a sort of sensor plugged in the stock intake piping leading to the stock airbox, which sensor is that? Should I just leave it there plugged into the stock plastic piping or should I just remove the stock plastic piping entirely?

Thanks for all your help.

air intake temp sensor.

there is an intake for 95/6 and another 97-99. The 95/6 Stillen intake has a hole for the sensor.

Actually I hardly feel any low end loss. Or is it because I'm revving at higher rpm's now just to hear that growl!?!

Once the vehicle is in motion the inlet air temperature is the same as a cone intake. You're just spending extra money that can be spent elsewhere.

Believe me, once that mid pipe goes on there, if you didn't lose any low end, youwill gain some. The resonator from the air box is going causing a more air to go straight to the engine.
