Nokya headlight bulb melted harness

I have a 96 maxima SE and a while back i had one of my headlight bulb harnesses melt. I have the Nokya 9004 bulbs. I replaced the harness with a new one from nissan but put my stock bulbs back in. I was wondering if this is a common problem with these bulbs. If i switched to PIAA bulbs would I still experience the same problem? Is there a bid difference between the PIAA bulbs and the APC bulbs? The APC bulbs are about $20 for the set and the PIAA are $70 for the set around here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Dealer told me that they've been having lots of melted harness lately from aftermarket bulbs. You just have to make sure the bulbs run the same wattage.

I have Nokya Artic purple bulbs, they are overwatts at 80/100. I run an upgrade lighting harness because my stock harnesses were showing signs of melting/failing. If you do run overwatts, upgraded harness(or some people believe all you need is to change the gauge of the grounds)are recommended because of the increase in current draw increases the temperature of the harnesses. So, either get the PIAA's in the stock 45/65 wattages(which you won't be happy with if you liked the Nokya color) or another HID knock-off bulb with the stock 45/65 wattage.
