Driving while intoxicated =(

So it all starts one night when we are hanging out at my friends house and theres beer on the table and we all start drinking "alcohol" and we start getting hungry so we jump in the ride and drive town to our local pizza joint and a cop pops up out of nowhere and gives us all field sobriety tests and isay why are you giving me one im so drunk i couldnt even say my abcs forward instead of backward and the cop says to embarass you is that even a legitimate remark? I wasnt driving by the way i'd just like to share this story on the board. Can i get in trouble for actually being drunk and being under 21???????/ he has made me get a court date and show up for i dont kow what ...

being under the infuence of some thing can be a big problem.many pepople die from drunk driving. it's pretty bad if you get a DUI at any age, thats something that follows you just about the rest of your life.it really sucks that your going throu that.some time i drive when i had a few, and i know its bad, i just hope i never get stoped.
every time some one drives drunk and gets home safe they are lucky.people get lucky time after time but cops only need to get lucky once and once they catch you thats it your f***ed.
so to everyone,,,,,,,think before you drink and have a plan on how you're getting home....you could be saving your life!

Wanna hear a sad tale?

I didn't turn 21 until 8 months after I graduated from college
Not being able to go to bars with your classmates sucks.

Yea you can get in crap. Hell, I got a citation and was driven home by police for being at a party where there was alcohol! I was the designated driver and blew a 0.0 but cops don't like 17 yr olds too much in this area ..

Are you drunk now? Is that why your post is one big run-on sentence.

Of course you can get in trouble for being intoxicated under 21. That's why there is a drinking age. You may be able to get public intox as well.
My expierence with the law is that if they want you to face consequences they will find a way.

A friend of mine (under 21) was caught riding is a car drunk - he was not driving. The court took away his license for 3 months because they said "he could not conduct himself properly and they can't take a change and put him on the roads yet."

Wow that is the most outrageous thing I have heard in some time. I cant believe that is even legal. If anything he was smart enough to not drive under the influence, in my opinion anyone who had anything to do with that sentence is unfit for their job. Talk about being an a$$hole.

I do my best to not drive under the influence. I was in panama city last in april at Club Le Vela. Got a ticket for underage drinking for $250. I don't live in Florida, I just had to send the fee and the ticket stays in Florida, thank god.

I have always been very careful not to drive drunk or get in a car with someone that has been drinking. I compromised this once (while very wasted) and got in the passenger seat of my friend's dad's 93 supra (turbo). We then proceeded to do a 297ft burnout, around a turn and into a tree.

The car was totaled, but we both escaped with minor injuries.

Don't drink and drive.

Let me first begin by making my opinion clear that I don't support underage drinking. However, in Ontario, the drinking laws are different. It is not illegal for underaged people to drink. Only for underaged people to purchase alcohol. According to the letter of the law, if an underaged person buys alcohol, the person selling the alcohol has committed a crime, not the underaged drinker. Even the person giving the underaged drinker is at fault. The underaged attaining the alcohol itself is committing no crime. However, possession of alcohol by an underaged person is illegal. Which is like a fine and confiscation of the alcohol, which is no biggie. And public intoxication is illegal, but not restricted to those underaged. So technically, had you been underaged in Ontario (legal drinking age being 19), and been caught drunk in public, it would be a ticket for public intoxication, NOT underaged drinking.

You need to get a lawyer. Don't even think of going to court solo on this one.

Take time to read the whole post. He was not driving he was a passenger and was drunk. Anyway, I'm only 19 and from NYC. Around here I've been drinking since I was 13 (Wine) and now vodka etc.. (I'm from Russia). No NYPD cop that I know or have ever met would give you a ticket if your are older then 17 for being drunk unless you were disturbing the peace. I believe sometimes cops have a bad day or are just plain bored that they start looking for action. Fight it with a lawyer but I think your going to lose some hard earned money.

Re: Driving while intoxicated =(

you can get in trouble. if you were a **** to the cop, he might rape you. if you were cool to the cop, then he might let you off with disorderly conduct. the point is that you were drunk and were on the road, UNDERAGE. it doesn't matter that you weren't driving. same result if you were just walking down the street and you got stopped for looking drunk. underaged drinking
