Bad gas mileage....but ECU says nothing is wrong???!!
My gas mileage has really sucked lately. 22.5 HIGHWAY this last tank and its been around 22 for a while. I have 88,000 on my car, auto, 95, with only a CAI but I was driving very good, not abusing it lately cause mpg is so bad. Oil changes every 3000k, my tranny fluid is good.....fuel filter maybe??? Thats about the only thing I can think of. But it was changed last winter, about 10,000 ago so even if its that, it shouldnt be right??? I thought those go 30,000?
Im using 91 octane too. Im afraid something may be up because of this, but I cant sell my car cause its paid off and its worth more to me then I can get for it. Although I do want a 5 spd, like a 97 or 98 but I want one with lower miles, like 50-60k. But I cant afford that if I can only get $7000 for mine (KBB price).
What you all think is wrong with my car? It also feels sluggish lately too but Im not sure, could just be me making it worse then it is. Knock sensor??

After getting my rims it was around 25....and since getting the CAI it was around 25. Ive done all scheduled maitanences to the car too, cleaned the TB when i put the cai on. Fuel filter around 10k ago, all scheduled maitanance items, 30k, 60k, but not the 90 yet, but am going to in 2000 miles.
OK. Maybe not
But keep in mind, K&N claim that their filters only need cleaning every 50K miles. It turns out that that rule only applies to the panel filters. It doesn't apply to cone filters in the CAI and such.

And check your brakes like speedtrip suggested. It seems Maximas are known for sticky calipers. especially watch the right rear or passenger side rear brake. That's got stuck for me and most everyone else.
