More sunroof problems

I found out thru trial and wet interior that the tray? that covers the back of the sunroof is only attached on on side so that when you move the sunroof to the closed position it does not cover the rear gasket of the sunroof. There is a philips screw that holds a Black piece of plastic that does not seem to be doing anything,I am unsure whether it should be attached to anything or if is broken, any info is appreciated.

Sunroof

I have a 97 Maxima and the back side of my sunroof would sag when I would close the sunroof and the wind and water would blow in when driving, I fixed this by removing the two platic covers on each side of the sunroof and push up on the sunroof and tighten the star shape screws on each side. I am thinking of using some lock tight to keep them from backing out, just don't get the wrong kind of lock tight or you will never get these loose again. I hope this helps if this is the problem you are having

I did a sunroof rebuild on my cousins 97 GLE. The only way you can see what's going on is to pull the roof down and look at the sunroof assembly.
