I seriously need a new exhaust really soon and need to know what I need for a custom setup. For example is the 4th gen Greddy exhaust just a b-pipe and a muffler? If not what are all the parts I need to make a complete cat-back exhaust???

All of the ready-made catbacks for our cars are mandrel bent. Only custom exhausts are pressure bent. So try Apexi, HKS, Greddy, and Remus.

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I'm gonna go with a WARPSPEED setup. Cat-converter, y-pipe, b-pipe and not sure whether they have mufflers. That will cost me around $600 but that includes a y-pipe where the GREDDY costs that much without. Well I still want some opinions about my decision...

I just installed Budget Exhaust's b-pipe (with a whole system that includes their y-pipe, hi-flow cat & a 2K1 Maxima muffler that has 2.5" inlet pipe) Their b-pipe starts from the cat back. I have no resonator. My Max now accelerates really quick.

I got seriously lucky on that deal. Jime was the former owner of that exhaust system. b/c he's looking at getting rid of his Max (maybe for a newer one??) he wanted to recoup a bit of his investment. We did a swap/purchase where he would get my oem exhaust system (from exhaust manifold back) & I get his for C$560 (~US$350). That price included the labour cost which is awesome. His actual price was C$1080 (~US$675). At the time of the swap, it was only 4 months old.

I'm definitely one lucky dog!

Now, on their site it says they only have 2 1/4" b-pipes and that they only fit on stock mufflers. Does anyone make a 2 1/2" b-pipe that I can get for around the same price? Will a magnaflow muffler go well with it/fit???

it fits the stock setup, my hks muffler is specifically made for max's so it has the hangers and such so it's just straight bold on to your b pipe, you can get around that by getting your muffler welded, which many civics do. The 2 1/4 b pipe is fine, it's still much louder and mandrel bending is great. Our stock is 2' so it's still nicer and for 170 with a resonator yo ucan't really beat that

So it is cheaper to just go and buy a B-pipe and find a universal free flow muffler to your liking as opposed to buying the whole catback system for like 500$? right?

how much does a B-pipe go for?
i've seen nice mufflers for ~100$

I have a 2.5" dia. b-pipe from Budget Exhaust. I bought it from Jime as part of a whole exhast system that included a Budget y, high-flow cat, and 2K1 Maxima muffler that was retrofitted with a 2.5" inlet pipe. Unforetunately, I can't give you a cost specifically for the b-pipe itself. Jime might have posted the price he paid for it back in the Spring of this year for the b-pipe.

If you want to see pics of it, goto my homepage (pg. 5). I'm thinking of throwing the car on the dyno but that won't be until the air is less humid. If I do that, I'll post up my numbers & jpg of hp/tq curves.
