Need help with wiring the power doorlocks
Need help with wiring the power doorlocks
I have a 1995 Maxima GXE, with a manual transmission. The car originally DID NOT come with a factory alarm or keyless entry. I am trying to install an Audiovox alarm system and I have trouble hooking up the power doorlocks controls. The alarm has the feature but I don't know which wires to hook it up to in the car. I can either use a ground pulse or a +12V pulse output.
I have service manual with the wiring diagram of the power lock system (Haynes) but sofar I couldn't find the appropriate wires. I took the driver's door power lock switch apart but I still could not find a solution. Is there an alternative place on the Body Control Module?
I appreciate any help.

Thanks, I'll check that out as soon as I get home tonight!
Do you know a way I can have all doors opened with a single pulse? What is the reason behind the double pulse?

since you have audiovox,i'm not too familier with it.i do viper, prestige, k-9 and omega stuf, but you shuold be able to program ur audiovox to two (-)pulse unlock,so that you only need to press unlock 1X on ur remote and it will automatic output two (-)pulse on the unlock wire to unlock all the door, good luck!
hello, I also had(having) problems with the remote door locks, I got the Crime Guard 745i3 from Crutchfield and I had to order an extra wiring harness that has resisters and different wiring than what came with the unit that would give the signal the 2 pulses or whatever, i dont really understand, but in order to make this work I was told that you have to tie into the wires inside the drivers door..what a pain, I would think that the wires could just as easily be tapped into under the dash somewhere, but I have yet to install the power door locks, as I am waiting to get my new speakers and amp, so I can run all the wires at once, and possibly aviod a headache

I know it is a pain but you will have to run the wires into the drivers's side door. In my other car, I could simply connect it under the dash (Honda). I ran the wires already, and I tell you it is not easy, if you want to do a clean job. Be careful not to damage the little rubber sealing on the door otherwise you'll have water in your front speaker every time it rains.
You pop the switch assembly out carefully from the front. I was told that the light green/red is for locking and the green/yellow is for unlocking. The latter requires a double ground pulse.
If you are not afraid to take the switch apart (as I did) and have a little experience with soldering, I know a way you can hook up the unlock wire so it does not require the double pulse.
