I got a 04 07 engine code. I have a problem with my crank shaft position sensor. At the end of the code it says "reference" what is that refering too?? How can I fix it? Can I fix it myself?? I have a 95 5 speed if anyone can help that would be fantastic.

There are 2 crank shaft sensors. One is called reference and the other is called..... well a crank shaft sensor.

I think, don't take me 100% on this one..... that the reference one is located near the crank pully and the reference one is located near the flywheel.

It may be the other way around. Bottom line is there are 2 crank sensors, just make sure you replace the correct one.

The REF sensor is near the oil pan. It is above it and towards the firewall of the car. It's also fairly close to the motormount oin that side. Look for a little black thing sticking out of the block with some wires going to it. Sorry, that's the best description I can give.
