Catback/Suspension bangs

Hey i just lowered my car about a month ago with tokico blues and a pro kit. Before that i had a custom 3.0" catback system bult. there were no problems or noises untill i lowered the car. now every time i hit a large bump the rear axel comes up and slams into the exust piping that runs over it...

does any one know of a way to prevent this realy ####ing disturbing sound...
Maybe a sound insulator or a way to stop the suspenstion from coming up so far.

mine hits over large bumps. not as much as you describe though. i'd wrap some heat resistant rubber on it with some tie wraps or hose clamps. otherwise make sure your hangers are in good shape.

Are you 100% sure it's the axle banging into the pipe? (I'm not saying that it's not but I had a similar sounding problem) Read on to see if this might apply to you....

I just had a custom 2.5" catback from Budget installed last Sat. It uses a modified 2K1 muffler which is quite a bit wider than the oem one. I had my agxs/progress springs before this installation was done & had no banging noises....until the catback installation. As it turns out, my muffler was occasionally hitting the metal "wall" that's between it and the spare wheel well.

I fixed the problem by anchoring the metal "wall" to the wheel well with 2 stainless steel screws. I pre-drilled holes to help get the screws in more easily. I also swung the muffler off one of the hangers to get the 2nd screw in.

Good luck in solving the problem!!
