i drove outta town this weekend and ive been driving around alot after my new suspension(B&G,AGX,FSTB) and i guess new tires can be included in that too and i feel my suspension is just insane and it makes me REALLY LOVE my car, i was driving at like 85 on straitaways and then speeding upto 110 on the curves and i felt totally in control with ease. It was awesome and i feel that until i were to get a supercharger or something, my suspension would be my favorite upgrade. How many of you feel that way too?
one more question, what has the biggest impact out of those four on handling(springs, AGX(2F, 4R settings), FSTB, sumitomo HTR+ tires)?

- most noteable single improvement you can make. (YMMV)
As a complete package though, tires/wheels and suspension mods have been the best things I've done to my car. (brakes, too, but to a lesser degree)
I raced my MAX this past weekend at Thunderhill Race Park in Northern CA. I was totally impressed with the car's stability, response, and roadholding ability.
I think I have my car dialed in right where I want it.
-had a crocodile smile all damn day long!

suspension was HUGE on my car. i had my rims/tires on the next day, so its hard to really compare either mod, but i would say suspension was best so far.

I had my 17" with 235/45 Potenza RE 950s for 3 months before my Eibach/tokico suspension. It's tuff to say but the wheels and tires were probably a little bit more of an improvement. Probably because I went from 15" with chepo 205/60 tires.
I do love my Eibachs though.

You spent a grand on shocks? You must mean springs and struts. That is still a lot.Originally posted by NightRider

Haven't done my suspension yet, but I have to say that tires make a gigantic difference. When I put Dunlop SP Sport 9k's on my max I had more grip than I knew what to do with, I could easily enter corders 5-10 MPH faster.

I guess suspension is a good investment when it comes to max's but I think I never drove on wide tires like 245's and brand like Pirelli's because I must say these were the best tires I've had yet!..Handling was like day and night. However they're almost worn out and fixing to put 235's this time, Faulkens. Not so sure about them....
Best mod i ever did was race seats.
bar none.
you "wear" the car. like a glove. when you become one with it. you know how to drive it.

It's cool & all, but remember. . .Originally posted by thebigsadler

air for show, springs for go.
A properly matched set of performance lowering springs and struts/shocks will always offer better handling & control than airbag suspension, under extreme driving conditions.
It just depends on what peoples' priority is.

I haven't changed my suspension yet.. but have all the stuff. I can't wait to change it b/c I honestly think stock maxima suspension just plain out suck. Sometimes I hate driving my car b/c it can't handle worth anything. It might be the a really smooth, fast and has the power, but what good is it when a turn comes and you struggle to make the turn and then feel your car roll all over the place while making the turn. At times i find myself wanting to drive my friends '97 acura cl 4-cylinder even tho her car has weak acceleration compared to my max and the car doesn't ride as smoothly as my own car, but her handling is just 10x better and it makes u want to drive the car. So suspension is by far a very important mod. One that I need to get my lazy butt working on. =)

Weakest point of the car, bar none. Once you address this, you will love driving your car. . .again.

yup thats right, it was an all highway trip at the night, i had my new HIDs too...i was pumping with some nice integra for a good hour, he couldnt keep up but anyway...yea i was going like anywhere btwn 75-95 on straits and then 100-110 on curves and it was awesome...but on highways curves arent that hard to handle but i can definately feel how much easier the car went into the turns and didnt feel stressedOriginally posted by voltman
