cold air intake question

I just installed Place Racing cold air intake and it untapped some power of my max. The sound is hella cool . But it says not to drive it in wet conditions. Where i live its going to be rainy season soon and is there a chance water can get sucked in and go inside the engine on a rainy day. And how do you guys get around on rainy days?

I see you live in LA, I think that you should be fine since I live in Chicago and I had no problem even in the winter.

And if you do, try to drive around the water with a passenger side if possible.

I don't worry about it. I've driven through puddles without incident. Where does it say that you shouldn't drive when it's wet out? As long as you don't drive through flood zones, you should be fine.

If it really bothers you, simply turn it into a HAI.

i had a place racing on my last max, i never really had problems, but it was only on for like 2 months, i have my new one in the mail, and i live near chicago so it rains a lot out here. should i be worried about driving in the rain?? the max is my daily driver i cant avoid rain. and isnt there some sort of water by-pass valve or something you can get to prevent that??

There is one, and I think APEX makes it. Correct me if I am wrong.

AEM. theres no worry getting the filter a little wet, its when the filter is completely submerged under water is when you will have problems.

That's right, it's AEM. They did a test, I believe it was one of AEM's CAI 4 Civic. Intake was place in a tank of water 6 inches under water. With that bypass, not a single drop got into an engine.

thanks for the info. It is a big help. I tend to speed alot more in my max because of the added power and the amazing sound.
