What is the KLUNK when I turn?

I was slightly run off the road at 65 mph and it busted my CV boot, had it replaced the next day, 1 week later, I got the new rims and the other one busted, had it fixed the next day, since the last one there is a klunk when i turn. I took it to the shop, my mechanic said the CV joints were both fine and no slippage marks present, he asked about the FSTB, and while I was explaining it I noticed it looked a little "higher" on one side, so I took it off, now it only Klunks when I turn left, but the car sems to handle better with it off, but what is this klunk stuff? any ideas?

Yeah, Klunk, not a pop or a ping, but a pretty heavy sounding Klunk, My first car was an '82 Honda Civic (I've learned since then OK) and the CV joints were way out and when I turned sharp it was a clakety clackety sound, but this sounds ummm....thicker? I dunno, give me some ideas, it's not affecting any performance (so far) but I'm about to road trip about 2,000 miles and I don't need no problems

Whoa, I just remembered, i had that with my old 87 z24, and on my ex gfs jetta. It only happened when turing sharply at slow speeds. Needless to see, the jetta tranny blew on one of those turns. I don't know what it was, but it wasnt good. My car makes a popping sound whenever I turn from far left to far right while stopped. I dunno what it is. If anyone knows about that one, let me know.

I too have this problem and some have suggested it may be the strut bearing. I have not looked into this yet.

Could be the strut bearing. If it's damaged, it won't turn easily and just build up tension in the spring until POP.. it moves all at once.

You were run off the road "slightly"

Popping noises are spring related. Causes are strut bearings or worn spring isolators, incorrect spring installation. Lets assume your spring/struts have not been disassembled. Lets rule the strut assy. out here.

When you went off roading, did you jump a curb or something like that? If so, I'd be looking at your lower control arm bushings. They probably took quite an impact. Expecially if your busted a CV joint.
