60K Service -- A couple unanswered questions from search...

Hey guys,

I'm in the process of doing the 60,000 mile service on my car. My car has over 62,000 on the odometer right now, so I'm trying to get this done.

First of all, is this everything that is needed for the 60K mile service? I'm not worried about brakes because I'm getting X-drilled rotors in a few months, so is there anything else I missed?

Also, what Transmission Fluid should I use? I read some people used AMSOIL, and others used Mobil1. Any recommendations? Will any coolant do for the radiator? Where can I get the belts for the 2 that need to be replaced? Dealer only?

And I think that's it.

Thanks,
-Nick

That's a pretty good list of stuff. If you're adventurous, about all I'd add would be the small EGR tube cleaning and make sure there aren't any error codes in the ECU. Not all will kick the CEL on. And maybe see if your oil pressure sending unit is leaking yet ($6 at autozone). You can get the belts at http://courtesyparts.com/A32_maint.html

ATF: Amsoil ATF and Mobil 1 ATF are comparable. The difference is drain interval recommendations and warranty. Amsoil can go up to 3X longer than Mobil recommends and they back their product with a warranty. Your car will loce either one. If you go with Dino ATF, make sure it's Dexron III.

Coolant: This can spark a debate. Many people use Toyota Red, as it is a no silicate formula, which is what is supposed to be in the car. Some dealers have Nissan long life coolant, which is also silicate free, but some just use whatever coolant as well. I use Zerex, which is a low silicate formula, and haven't had any problems. I do change it once a year though.

Belts: Most auto parts stores will have them as well, not just the dealer. I think they're $20-25 at Autozone.

if you could, that would be great. I won't be able to buy it until next paycheck though.

Later,
