dont worry about it dude i think everyone just has different views and when you encounter something like this on the road, different things will happen. i dont know if accelerating in the other lane is the best thing to do but i just hope that all of us do whats the most appropriate thing on the road.

and what?? youre supposed to hit the dog? aw man that sucks.
do you suppose..on a planet where dogs drive the answer is A) HIT THE HUMAN ? damnn man. i guess we can blatantly and outright say DOGS DONT MATTER

It's Bad In Socal.............

When this sort of thing happens.....some aggressive fool with an axe- to-grind driving style........let em go as soon as your aware. I see this type here in Cali more than anywhere else I have lived ....must be the daily stress of driving here..or the financial burden of dealing with inflated real estate prices and high taxes. I protect my max like gold because half the time these sh*****heads will buy it down the road somewhere, somehow, someday and you don't want to be invloved.

that's okay man, it happens to the best of us, as long as you try to learn from the mistakes, in reality nobody here really wants anything bad to happen, and we only call you a jerk because we love you hehe

The situation with the deer question is a very tricky one. I live in Mississippi so I see deer all the damn time. The most correct answer is to hit the deer because of two reasons.
One: Slamming the brakes or swerving is dangerous in any situation Two: Slamming on your brakes causes the front of your car to dip which has caused deaths where deer take a graceful trip over the hood and through the windshield.

Basically the best choice is to stay alert to everything around you and try to see things before they happen. That includes Silverado jerks and deer.

Oh...a word of advice to all maxima drivers...dont try to pass DTR he would rather swerve into oncoming traffic than let you by.

...I'm gonna get hell for that...

Dog vs deer...

Dog on a bend;
1) hit
2) ditch
3) brake
4) oncoming lane

I choose 3, to brake without locking the wheels. If #1 happens, then c'est la vie. Same with a deer. The difference is that if you hit a dog you will kill it, versus hitting a deer you will kill it and possibly yourself and your passengers. How much does a Maxima's nose dip under braking? Not enough to make the difference between hitting the deer's body or legs - you'll always hit it's legs unless it's a fawn or you drive a fullsize pickup.

In the silverado situation... I would have braked in my own lane. If he hit me, it's his fault - if he doesn't, then everyone is fine.

That's just what I was taught. If the front end dips the deer can go over the hood and through the windshield.

That is true though...so in other words...just try to see the deer first!!

ha thats what you guys think.
the deer wasnt even in the middle of the road for me. that would be a easy one to avoid.
the stupid thing comes out 3 feet in front of me from the side outta nowhere and smashed my right panel then it hit the floor. i wanted to go back and kick it in the ribs.
yes deer are beautiful creatures but WTF

Holy crap, I can't believe you all are still pondering the deer question!!! If I still had my old '83 F100 I would have been aiming for the deer, hit the thing, thrown it in the back, taken it to the nearest butcher, and been eating various forms of venicin for a year.

different story if I was in the max though....
