Progress Springs vs. H&R's
I've been researching these shocks for several months. I'm definietly getting the KYB AGX's. However, I can't decide on which springs to get. I hear the H&R's are close to stock but don't lower as much. The Progress springs are looking good but I don't know what the rider quality feels like compared to H&R's. I've searched and still haven't found what I'm looking for.
By the way, I live in New Orleans where the roads are very bumpy, potholes are numerous, and so is flooding. I currently have 17" Konig Tantrums. I just got my refund check from school, and I need to act on this suspension upgrade now.
Thanks in advance.

i live in new orleans...and i jus did AGX + h&Rs last friday...i got to really test the combo out this week going to delgado...man the ride isn't that soft..maybe it's my wheels, but my bro and his gf said my ride is harsh also.. i at first thought it was smooth, but i've been riding on blown struts for almost half a year...anything would have felt smoother...i do not like the drop that the H&Rs gave my car..i've seen others on the org with H&Rs and their car seems lower than mines...oh btw my AGX r set at 2/2

H&R all the way! Set your AGX's to 1/2 and you get as close to stock as you can get. Smooth, yet firm sporty ride. If your Auto, the H&R's drop is perfect, make the car look good, not slammed.
See sig....

I'd exchange it, but untill you do that, run 2 all around.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll go with the H&R's. There's this street called Earhart that is notorius. Bumpy as hell! I like how your max looks in that pic, njmaxseltd.

Can anyone recommend a good place to have these struts and springs professionally done? I'm thinking of Pepboys and this plae by my house called Sonic Boom, a motorsports store.
The roads in New Orleans sucks.
I think on small bump, H&R (with AGX) might be equal to, or better than, Progress (with AGX). for slightly bigger bump, H&R (with AGX) is much better. but for new orleans style bump, doesn't matter anymore.
I have progress with AGX and I feel stock on "normal" road but much more bumpy in bumpy road (progressive spring rate!). so far, I like my progress.

I just called Greg at custommaxima and he said that it's actually more like a 1.7 drop all around. When I asked him about H&R's, he said hat Porgress springs are the same quality of H&R's but are cheaper. Therefore, that's why they sell them. If the ride quality of Pogress springs matches the H&R's then I'll get those. However, from what I've heard so far, the H&R's are the most comfortable struts.
Remember that the manufactuer's list the minimum drop of the spring. The H&Rs lowered my car more than 1.4" in the front and 1.3" in the rear. I have a 2.2" gap in the front and a 2.0" gap in the rear. To me, that equates to a 1.7" drop in the front and nearly a 2.0 drop in the rear. An automatic with the extra 50lbs in the front would most likely see a nearly even drop.
