Do all 99 GXEs have BCM?

Hey,

I am trying to add remote entry to my 99 GXE without C&C would my car have a BCM I looked by the ECU and didn't see one.

Has anyone added keyless entry?
If so how hard was it and do they have instructions?

Thanks

BCM=Body Control Module

Doesn't the BCM control all of the electronics? Wouldn't they all need one?

My search for "BCM located" led me here: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....ht=BCM+located

Well, the transceiver for thr keyless entry system is located in the trunk near the motor for the antenna if you have one. If you have the C&C package, you should have one.

All 4th gen maxima have a BCM. It controls more than just the keyless entry. ie. dome lights, security system...etc

I don't have a transeiver in the trunk as I don't have the C&C package. Has anyone ever added keyless entry. Since the dealer can add it when you purchase the car I thought that I may be prewired.
I was just curious if anyone knew?

I just recommend get an aftermarket alarm and have them hookup your power dooor locks. Then you have the best of both worlds, convenience and security......

Yeah, go with an aftermarket alarm. Most of use with the C&C package end up with an aftermarket alarm, cause we realize the factory one just plain sucks

Good point. The only good thing about the factory security is the imobilizer.

There is no point for an alarm. The car will get fudged anyway.

I was thinking about just putting in OEM keyless, but I forgot that I wanted it. I don't think i've read a post where anyone has done it.

I don't think it would be too hard. I might just have to try it.
