I did some searching and couldnt really find anything. I know that the Warpspeed CAI is MUCH cheaper. Does anyone know from experience which CAI is better? Quality, performance.. that sort of thing. Thanks

i have never had any experiences with warpspeed but i had a place racing on my last car before it was totaled, and on the new one, and i like it a lot

I spent many many many hours searching for info about intakes. There wasn't too much info about warpspeed except that they have $hitty service, and you're more likely to see the devil in a wintercoat the receive whatever you ordered.

I think I'd go with prcai even tho it costs alittle more. You'll never know when you'll get the warpspeed..

I have the place racing cai and I havn't been disapointed yet and sounds great. Oh yeh everybody i show it too says it looks awsome in the engine bay. I think the warpspeed one looks cheap. Hope your happy with what you get.

I have had my PR CAI for almost 18 months. I have zero problems with it. I had zero install problems with it.

PRCAI sounds like its more highly recommended... i think ill go with that one.

Injen also makes one for your car!! There are real nice and involve no drilling or cutting check out the maxima of the month(jeff) this month he's got one. It looks sweet

When I was reviewing intakes I was sorta edgey about it. Since the pipe is positioned between the engine and radiator, literally right next to it, I'm wondering how hot that pipe gets. The PRCAI seems to get away from the heat as soon as it can but then again you have to drill.

I have the place racing and I love it. Looks great, sounds great, and works great.

One additional benefit of the PRCAI- you can ALWAYS find one used. There have been a half dozen in the last 2 weeks. I got one, with BRAND NEW couplers and hoses and a BRAND NEW filter, for about $110. All that was used was the piping. How can you go wrong? I mean, even if you buy the CAI used, there is nothing that could really go bad except the filter. I bought a new one (not a cheap knock-off of a K&N) for $15, shipped, on eBay from a guy who just replaced his filter w/ a bigger one. The one that I got came with his CAI, but he wanted the larger size. Any 3"-opening cone filter will work.

My recommendation is to get one used. As long as the hoses are not cracked, the worst you will have to do is replace the filter if it is all crapped up, which is not likely to begin with, given the CAI filter placement...

I've had my Place Racing cold air installed for 2 weeks now. The install was easy, and it is a tru cold air setup that pulls fresh air in from the fender. Very good quality, won't purchase anything else.

I have had mine for about 6 months. Installation was quite easy and the filter sits securely in your wheel well.

My only issuew with the Injen intake is that it really does not get cold air and is way overpriced. The filter sits right in front of the radiator. Think about it, all they are is a three inch wide piece of steel tubing.

The cost to manufacture these after prototyping must be no more than $40.00.


Now some will argue that the temp in the the intake manifold will heat any air coming in at WOT. This may be true.

At less than full throttle I beleive you will get cooler air flow.
