car shudders

i have been having starting problems and i just found the perfect thread for it (http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....ector+problems)...but now some problem in the same area arises:

in the beginning...
every morning (usually only after it sits for a while) i have to give my Maxima gas or it would not start. it whould "rrr rrr rrr" but needed gas. after that the rpms would "bounce" high then drop stalling low, up, down, up down. i give it more gas then it would level out.

today... (this is the problem i need help for)
i filled up the tank then started it up, no problems. when i started driving off and my car began to shudder. not just when i accelerate, but the entire time the car is running. the shudders are more intense at an even 1,000 and 2,000 rpms. <----i tested it in park (but does it while driving too). it also drives sluggish...slow to accel.

future...
i'd like to drive my MAX without "dragging" along slowly with the grandmas on the freeway.

DANIEL MARTIN please

one of your previous posts, below, has 2 tests. i was wondering if those 2 tests are to be done at a time in which i think the car will not start if i don't give gas. or just anytime during the day.

my car only needs "manual fuel injection" about once a day, mornings.

You may do some simple tests to determine if your engine is hard to start because it has lost residual pressure.

Test #1, for leaky check valve.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, wait ten or fifteen seconds, and then twist the key to START. This brief delay gives the fuel pump time to build up the normal fuel pressure. If your engine starts and runs readily after this brief delay, you may have a leaky check valve.

Test #2, for leaky injectors.
Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold it there while you crank. Wide Open Throttle while cranking is a signal to the Engine Control Module (the computer) to clear a flooded engine. If your engine starts and runs readily with the "pedal to the metal" you may have leaky injectors.

Remedy for #1, leaky check valve.
I suggest you just "learn to live with it" and make the ten-second delay part of your normal routine. The check valve is part of the fuel pump, situated inside the gas tank. This is an expensive repair.

Remedy for #2, leaky injectors.
Buy three cans of name-brand fuel injector cleaner. Follow instructions on the can, and treat three successive tankfuls of gasoline. I've had good results with this kind of "snake oil". The three cans cost only US$5, so it is an inexpensive gamble. If the cleaner fails you may have to replace the leaky injectors.

i did test 2 and as soon as it started up it hit 5500 rpms then i let up...it died...so i started it up normal, and the check engine light came on:
0304 knock sensor circuit fault
0201 ignition signal primary circuit fault

i tried test 1 and it worked but i wasn't sure if it would've turned over normal anyway. so i'll get back to that one.
