I am kind of glad to see that 1999 is still holding up to be one of the least bought. More rare...that is cool with me. However, it is early yet...the 1999's have not become quite as cheap as the others. People buy the others because they are not out that much, and they can fix them up just as easily.

I respect your opinion, but why? Since both 98/99 models had just as many problems with ignition coils etc. I don't see why not have the last of the 4th gen, which would be the 99?

I like the 99 SE-L's even though some of the extra weight does not make them slower in any way. Stock 99's put up the same exact #'s that do the 97 and 98's.

The only reason why I prefer 99's over all other 4th gen is because of smoked emblems, which look bad a$$ IMO! That is precisely why I will never shave the rear of my Max. All 95-98 SE's have the rear "MAXIMA" sign as either gold or silver, which looks like cr@p compared to the 99's sign. Only the 99 SE-L's came with the sign smoked, including the side door SE-L emblems.

Here...here! I totally agree with ya! I mean, if they are pretty much the same, why not get the last year (or should I say, half year) of the 4th gens?
I too love the titanium emblems and stuff, along with the wheels on the SE-L. I would not shave it for anything.

most have automatic, but obviously the 5-speed owns all

However, I don't like the stock shift lever on the 5-speed. It looks very gay IMO because it's way too long. That is why I cut about 4 inches off of the lever and now it looks very sporty and extremely superior. Easy process as well so I don't see a reason why some ppl here don't do it - takes no more than a half hour for the average mechanically inclined individual. Just my $.02.

I also wanted to point out how the poll results are pretty much even. Amazing, I mean all years have over 100 votes and are within an average of some 25+- of one another. SWEET

Looks like the older 4th gens are outnumbering the new ones pretty good.
