Cattman, Stillen, or Warspeed?

currently i have budget y-pipe and im not really satisfied with it. so i thought to myself time for upgrade and i was looking at either Warspeed, Cattman, or Stillen's y-pipe. I see that warspeed is the cheapest out of those all. But im afraid i might get same out of it(which i think i did with budget). so what do you guys think is the best?(they are only $50 dollars differ...above three...) i don't mind about price really... but i want a nice sound + performance. right now i have y-pipe with apexi dunk universal muffler with resonator taken out and it don't sound good... so please HELP

thanks,
Tae

i have a warspeed pipe, it gets good power, and the noise is not so loud, out of those 3 choices IMO the warpspeed would be the 1 i'd get.

Is your Budget mandrel bent? If not, that's the reason it isn't performing as well as you hoped. A mandrel bent Budget/Warpspeed/Cattman/Stillen Y-pipe should all perform the same (maybe tiny differences, but not enough to notice on a butt dyno).
In regards to the sound, get rid of the muffler and replace it with something less ricey, thats why it doesnt sound good. Dunk style mufflers are known for being loud as hell.

i don't know man.... my buddy has 97 integra 3.0cl with n1 muffler and i love the sound. mines not that loud but i don't like it. and how do i know if i got mandrel bent or not? i got it through the GD couple months ago.
oh and i notice the big difference as far as performance but im really talking about the sounds. i don't like budget's sound. which one do you recommend for sound? or you think i should get different muffler? you think it's the muffler or y-pipe? let me know cause im kinda serious....

thanks,
Tae

I just had my Budget SS Mandrel bent Y-pipe installed today. I also have a 2.5" catback with no resonator and an OBX SS muffler. My car is a lot louder than it was, but its very deep, and there is no bees in the can sound. I had the guy make sure the pipe had clearance all around it so nothing vibrates.
I am very impressed with the power gains, very noticable. I paid $160 shipped for the Budget (on sale), and it is their best one. I'm glad I went with it, love the power and the sound. It's loud, but not too bad, might put a resonator on sometime in the future.
I'd highly recommend the Budget

taeMAX97: Have you tried your stock muffler with the budget Y. It might just be the rice Dunk exhaust. I think any car will sound rice if you put a certain universal exhaust. If I buy an ebay universal exhaust and bolt it onto my stock y, it will sound rice. I think its more the exhaust, rather than the ypipe, although you might be getting the bees in the cans from the y, but its probably just the Dunk. I just ordered my budget, I hope I dont have bees in the can. Good Luck.

A really annoying buzzing sound that sounds just like bees in a can.

Don't aluminized pipes tend to give this sound? Rather than stainless steel pipes?

whats a 97 integra 3.0cl?
it sounds unclean, put in a resonator, or change the muffler. If u choose the latter, pick a non straight through design muffler to clean up the sound.

well the question that always boils down to that is...do you wanna be faster, or do you wanna sound/look faster?

Are SS pipes heavier?

since ur not boosted or juiced, a mandrel vs non mandrel pipe, will yield small gains. And the type of ypipe would change very little about sound with your current setup, if you want to clean up the sound, but want to keep ur current muffler, try swapping out the cat for an aftermarket one, and adding in a couple resonators, or just switch to a non straight through muffler like dynomax or flowmaster. If you feel you HAVE to keep the Dunk, then go get some resonators, and have a shop weld them in for you, if u dont have an aftermarket cat, just get that as i have heard it helps with sound, then put in a a res, if its still too bad, get another res, with possibly 2 or 3 resonators itll sound much cleaner, maybe even with jus 1 resonator, trial and error.

imma do a search and check the FAQ next
but I thought as long as this thread was going...

The little perforated cover on (below) the cat. converter)
fell off the other day - the two metal straps had rusted through.
Dealer says "***edaboutit" leve it off.
Any thoughts?

Also - the whole system is in bad shape, some hangers missing.
Had it in for service and dealer sez will need to be repalced soon
pert near $500...
I was thinking maybe I'd replace it with a Stainless Steel setup so it would last.
More power would be nice, but I drive clients around in my car
so I don't want any extra noise (I have a stillen hi-flow that adds a bit of a growl but this is acceptable).
So, any reccomendations for a system to improve performance without adding noise?
Stainless Steel would be good, but isn't absolutely required.
Thanks
