A stick will always be quicker than an auto, stock for stock, in 4th gens. This question is asked about once a week. The speed difference between the years is negligable. Driver skill is what will make the difference in a race between two with the same transmission, stock for stock.

I think the turbo kit is most likely the PFI Kit. anyways, yes it will work on an auto but its concievable that a stock auto tranny would have trouble holding the amount of power the kit is capable of producing. Hope this helps.

Well, if you're putting a turbo on, it's cause you want to go fast. If you want to go fast, you'll have a heavy foot. If you have a heavy foot with the auto tranny, it will eventually go. There are some things you ca ndo to toughen it up, but nothing is indestructible, especially automatic Maxima transmissions.

There is a PFI kit for automatics as well, it is $200 more I believe. If it's not on the CustomMaxima.com site, then search in the Group Deal forum for turbo97se's posts. He mentioned it there.

This post indicates that you dont have quite enough knowledge to install a turbo kit on your car. There's more to beefing up an automatic transmission that putting some stuff inside...
