I recently purchased a used 1995 Maxima SE 5 spd. I noticed that on the end of the lever that controls my windshield wipers, there is a **** I can turn. When I turned on the windshield wipers and started playing with it, nothing happened. I was wondering what the **** controlled.

The lever should have three different settings. When it is on the first setting, you can turn the **** and it will change the speed of the intermittent wipers. Play with it and you'll see. The **** only changes the speed of the wipers if the lever is on the first setting (the one after off). Then if you move the lever down to the 2nd or 3rd setting they are just faster settings (not delayed/intermittent).
