ECU removal

dude. this is the most hardest thing i have even done. i rather take out my engine than take the ecu out. i give probs to everyone that did it.

It sucks, huh? I made sure I only put back in the front two screws. I don't ever want to do those rear screws again!

i still haven taken them out yet. im going to sears tomorrow to see if i can get some tool. you talking about the screws just taking off the bracket or or the screws to take off just the ecu?

Nissan left mine unscrewed.

After I fried the first one, they replaced it and left it unscrewed for me! Slackers.

Get one of those $5 ratchet type screwdrivers with the tiny bits. I only leave in the screw by the drivers foot and hand tighten every week.

io tired using that bit i even went out and brought a off set screw driver and still cant do it.

I mean the screws that hold the ECU into the bracket. I didn't know there was another way. ?
It really does suck. The positions you have to get into, the bending of your arm, the 'blind aiming' just to get 1/16 of a turn and then sip off. It does suck, I admit. I think it took me over an hour to do those four screws just because I had to figure out what to do and take breaks from all the 'pretzal positions'.
Use the tool Bejay mentioned and one more tip is I actually used a small pocket mirror to place back on the firewall so I can see the screw head. Good luck.
